Normandy Isolated War Graves in Eure, France

Location: This isolated grave is located On the D14E, Route de Bezancourt, off the D14, Place de l'Église, in the area south of the church and in front of the Marie and village War Memorial. Fleury-la-Forêt is 20 miles (32.25 kilometres) to the East of Rouen and 8½ miles south-west of Gourney-en-Bray.

The grave, with original cross marker, of Rifleman John William Woodward, is in the gounds of Fleury-la-Forêt church. As there are no other burials in the grounds around this church it is classified as an isolated grave. Rifleman John William Woodward is also commemorated, by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, on a special memorial (Block S, Plot IV) in Saint Sever Cemetery Extension in Rouen.
